Semana 3: DUH DUH DUHHHHH!!!!!! Proseletismo!!!!!

SO This week was full of ups and downs but over all it was a good week! 

So I have my new companions and they are super nice! The whole first day i twas told that i was to show them arround the CCM and help them get used to it. You know tell them encouraging comments and help them.

I dont know if i said their names but one is Hermana Hunsaker from Twin Falls, Id and Hermana Loveall is from Maricopa, AZ. The 2nd night here we were talking out in the hall and she started to cry and say that she was super overwhelmed and that she didnt feel like she was gonna learn the language fast enough. AND I GAVE HER ADVICE!!!!! It was super surreal.... I was all like you can do it and that its ok!  Weird..... haha I was told this week that I am just their companion and im supposed to guide them on how to teach a lesson. I was told my one of my teachers that they all know that im really good at teaching in the practice teaching and that i now need ot work on my spanish and learning more words! so My job for the next few weeks is to teach the new hermanas how to follow the spirit durring a lesson and how to utilize the things that they have given us to help us teach lessons. 

So On saturday we went to Proselitismo! I was beyond terrified! I was paired with 2 Hermanas out in the field. They told me that one was american and the other was brazilian.... they were wrong....

One was Brazilian and the other was Columbian. So they didnt speak any english... I thought I knew alot of Spanish..... NOPE! hahaha! so it was quiet sometimes but it was fun! 

So first went to the local church building and did companionship study and then we walked to a members home where they served us the best lunch ever! It was ravioli and then for dessert was homemade flan!!!!! SOOOOO GOOODDD!!!!!!!!! After that the Sister drove us to their apartment where I met the other Hermanas that lived in the Apt next to them! they were so nice and funny haha! Then we all walked to the train and me and my companions took the train to the next stop and walked to the next apointment. We were meeting with Carmen and Pedro. They have 2 boys. The youngest one is the cutest kid EVER! he had a constant smile on his face! SOOO CUTEE!!!!

They lived in a shack. Pedro had holes in his clothes and had flees because of the 2 dogs they had. But Carmen was so interested in the gospel. They both cant wait to get married and then get baptised. In Argentina, they have to wait for the government to say they can get married. And that can take a while, but they are so excited to be baptized! They took pictures of me haha! Even though i could barely understand them, I said my testimony about the LDM in the little spanish I knew. It was really cool.

After that we went to the church building that we went to before to go to the bathroon and stuff and while we were there, i met some youngwomen doing a little project there! So it was fun to talk to them haha! Then we walked to the train station where i was gonna be picked up by the shuttle that was gonna take us all to the CCM. They were on the shuttle with me until we picked up the rest of my district who were at the next stop.  OH! Sorry i didnt say their names! Hma. Gaviria is from Columbia *she gave me a note and bought me candy* and then the other was Hma. Salino! They were super nice and im so happy i got to meet them! 

Our district was proseliting in Merlo in the Buenos Aires Oeste Mission. 

After I got on the shuttle, i realized that i had major culture shock. You know you see things in pictures and your like oh ya thats how they live but when you are actually in the country, you realize how nice we have it in America! 

The Elders in my district were super jealous of my experience because they wanted to do what i did and i wanted to experience talking to people and getting references and contacts with people on the street like they did haha! But looking back on it im so glad that i did go with the sisters! I met missionaries in Buenos Aires and learn from them! 

So you know how i was sick.... well ya i got my teachers sick.... I feel so bad..... hahaha!

Oh! Im like the translator in my room fo rthe Brazilians and the American Sisters..... a bad one.... but i am haha! ITs kinda wierd again! I feel like i keep saying weird alot.... hahaha!

Oh because this sat is General Conference we dont go to Proseletismo. sad. 

And in South America they FAST ON THE SUNDAY OF GENERAL CONFERENCE!!!!

So all of us Americans are having a hard time with the fact that we dont get to snuggle in our Pjs and eat pancakes for breakfast haha! 

So that was my week so far! OH! I found out that today was the last time we were able to go through the temple! They are closing it for cleaning for the next 2 weeks! Im so sad!!!!!!! But then its weird that i wont be here in 2.5 weeks..................

"Charades is the Game!" Semana 2 (Argentina Buenos Aires CCM)

Wow this week has been another intersting week! A nice thing happened! Hermana Trujillo Told me that she was so happy that i arrived when i did because i helped to smooth out the relationship with her companion hermana scott! She said that i filled this void and helped them get along! So that was fun to hear! I was officially accepted into the other district! I seriously loved both of my districts! Im so sad that they left! They became my friends and whenever i wasnt haning out with my district i was hanging out with them! So another cool thing that happened was that on Saturday A huge group of people come to the temple every sat! So this last saturday we were in class and getting pretty restless! so Hermano Correa (one of our teachers) was like ok! For languange study today you will all walk out to the temple and talk to the locals there and work on your spanish! So I was terrified! I went out with our district leader and his companion and talked to a huge family! And i actually understood most of what they were saying!!!!!! After only over a little week! They were really receptive to me and told me that the whole family went throuhg the temple for the first time on thursday and that they really loved it! They travelled 6 hours by bus (like most of the people) To go to the temple! That was super cool! Oh! When we walked out of the CCM all the locals at the temple turned and we heard Missionaries!!!!! haha They even took pictures of us walking out! haha! we felt like celebrities!!! So Sunday i got sick! Like I still am now but i have a really bad cold! So Tuesday it was really bad! So The elders in my district game ma a blessing and it was so cool cause for all of them it was their first time! And let me tell you! The spirit was sooooo strong! After I wanted to hug them cause theyre like my bothers now but instead i gave them a handshake! haha! On tuesday, My companions left! :( It was so sad! I wrote a message to the other district in their room on their white borad and told them how i was happy they were so nice to me even though i barged in on their group! haha After i went to my class and was studying when one of the elders came in and said"Hermana Breon! Mormon district loves you!!! " haha! that was so nice! haha So just today i got new norte americanas! I was with the 3 Brazillian sisters for 2 days! In order to communicate It was broken Spanish and Charades! If you walked into our room, it would be a funny sight to see! haha Last night they moved out and i got 3 new Brazilian Hermanas! Who dont speak any English or Spanish! So that was super fun.... hahah! My new Americana Hermanas Are Hermana Loveall from Maricopa, AZ BABY! and Hermana Huntsaker from Twin Falls, ID! So so far ive only got to talk to them for a little bit haha! All the Norte Americana Missionaries think we are so good at spanish! HA! If only they knew it is soooo broken! haha! The Latinos that just showed up here told me that i speak very well... So I guess im doing better than what i thought haha! So for proselitismo on saturday, I will be going with 2 Hermanas who are actually in the Buenos Aires Oeste mission! So unlike my district who just contact people on the street, Im actually going to be teaching real investigators in Buenos Aires! I could possibly help convert someone and be there for their baptism! HOW COOL IS THAT?!?!?! I get to be with them for 2 saturdays and then the last with the new hermanas on their first proselitsmo! So Im super happy to be here! Me amo la Igelsia! Argentina Buenos Aires CCM: When times get tough the tough get tougher! Semana: 1

NSo the flight was so crazy! I was on the Phoenix plane to Atlanta with only one other elder who happened to go to the Argentina CCM Too! So after that super long flight, I got to the airport and met up with 10 other Elders! NO HERMANAS! So i figured that i would meet one there! We got on the plane and we were all generally sitting next to each other. I sat next to a nice guy who lived in  Buenos Aires so that was fun! He did speak english though! Seriously one we got aff the plane.. different country! Spanish Over load!  haha I just smiled and they all knew we were missionaries because of the guys haha! One of the flight attendants gave us some special attention because we were missionaries.

So My last meal in the USA was Panda express and i have to say that im so happy for that! Although im missing Mexican! In The CCM we eat a ton! of food! Commpn food here.. 2 slabs of pork, beef or chicken covered in gravy, papas fritas, and dulce de leche or flan in a cup!

Once we got to the Airport in Argentina and walked through customs, we went throught this door and seriously... it was the craziest most insane airport i have ever been in. There was like 40 people (no joke) holding signs to pick up people. haha! once we found the guy with our sign we loaded up the bus and took off toward the CCM! It was so wierd to look out at Argentina! I kinda got choked up just looking at the land! I KNOW this is where i need to be right now! 

When we drove up to the CCM, its on the Buenos Aires Temple grounds, and it is soooooo beautiful here! We got out of the bus and got our stuff and went on the whilwind of getting stuff unpacked and doing all sorts of stuff. 

I met my companions! So heres the thing about the companions.... I technically dont have any. The Elders that i felw here with are my district and there are NO other hermanas with me in my district. Well your companion is in your district. So I got paired with the ONLY Norte Americanas Hermanas in the whole CCM! They are serioulsy amazing! We were like friends the first day. Theey are Hermana Scott and Hermana Trujillo. They both are from Utah and  they are leaving on Tuesday to go to their missions. Scott is going to Paraguay Asuncion Norte and Trujillo is going to the Montevideo Oeste Misson. SO I wont see them again on my mmission once Tuesday rolls arround. And after they leave I will have no comapnions! :\ The Latino and Brazillian Sisters are in a different schedule than I am so I dont know how having no companion is going to work out when you are a missionary. The Hermanas said that it can take up to 4 weeks to get more Norte Americana Hermanas here so ill have to ask the President whats gonna happen.....

Speaking of which... President Willis and his wife are soooooooo nice!!!!! Hermana Willis gave me this big hug only 10 minutes once i got here! She is seriously the nicest person! 

OH! Before I forget! Mom, Dad, the CCM is what we like to say "the compound" It has 24/7 security guards out side and the policia drive by all the time.... so Im super safe!

So back to my companions... because they are in a different district, i have 2 districts! So I have been loving getting to know the other Elders as well as my own districts Elders! There are only 2 Norte Americana Districts in the whole CCM and just to put it into perspective 12 people are in the other district while there is 11 of us. The CCM has 72 people here! we are out numbered by the Latinos and the Brazilians but the Latinos and Brazilians are so cool! we just love them! 

My district is seriously the best! Its creepy when im having a down day, they will be like Hermana Breon, are you ok? and dont say that you are good cause i dont wanna hear that! Serously?! How great are these guys?! and In the other district, they all are helping me to learn spanish and im so grateful that they are here as well!

So a story about how God cares about us so much....

So on Saturday my companions went out into the streets of Buenos Aires to proselite. Well Since i dont speak spanish i was left here at the CCM to go to classes and stuff. Well It was alumerzo time and My teacher dropped me off at a Latino class so that way i would have a companion. Well I sat next to two Hermanas and they dont speak very much english and i dont spanish but they were so kind and sweet! So their teacher came in and was like ok! lets read the LDM! (Libro de Mormon) so it came time for me to read 2 verses and guess what?!?!?! I read it in PERFECT spanish.... Like for reals though!!! As i was reading it the Elders all started to look up at me with this shocked face! once i was done, the whole calss was just staring at me. The teacher said "WOW! that was muy muy bueno! are you sure you dont speak more spanish?" I said no and laughed and then they went on. Like 2 minutes later the teacher came in and took to me to lunch and was like Im so sorry! you shouldve been at lunch! 

But serioulsy?! so cool! Tender mercies man, tender mercies!

Its been sooooooo HARD here!!!! Its like im beating my self up asking myself why i havent learned any more spanish... why am i not fluent?! and then i remember... OH YA! Its only been 3 days or its only been 6 days! Ive picked up so much spanish but when we are teaching "investigators" (who are actually the teachers) its so hard cause i can understand like75% but i cant say what i want cause i dont know the words! But my companions are really helping me out and stuff! Seriously Im gonna miss them SOOOOOOO much! 

BTWs Brazilians know how to party!!! haha we have 3 of them in our room along with us and serioulsy they are hilarious! haha muy loca! haha

When i get discouraged, I just have to remember that Im supposed to be here and I know that God loves everyone and wants the best for all of us! In one of my teaching things (we call them IP) my lesson was not what i needed to say but i didnt know what else to do cause i had wrote what i had planed to say and didnt know how to say the ting that i was being told to say. So i ended what i said and i just felt that i needed to bear my testimony that being baptized will bring so much happiness for this certain persons life. And the spirit came rushing in and i knew that is what i needed to say. Afterwards my companions were talking and said the same thing, that the spirit was so present when i bore my testimony in the little simple words in spanish i know.

Oh and other thing... The President and his wife are both from AZ. And my new name from the other district is Celine Breon... haha sooo funny haha

A very nice person took this picture of all of the Americans headed to the Argentina CCM (MTC). Hayley was right...she knew she'd only be flying with the guys. That's okay. What a nice gift to receive unexpectedly.

Argentina Bound

Today she officially left for her mission! She flew to Atlanta and from there flew to Argentina. It was a joyful sorrow to us. We already miss her. But we look forward to hearing some amazing experiences.

Her Temple Day! (Friday, July 24, 2015)

While waiting to be taken through for her session in the Temple, a woman, who was taking her daughter through that same session, suddenly shared her testimony of Missionaries and the work of a missionary. As she spoke, the Spirit suddenly filled the room with warmth and love and we knew Heavenly Father wanted Hayley to hear it. She spoke of what her purpose will be in Paraguay and how she will change the lives of the people she comes in contact with, forever. There was more shared and it was very special. So grateful for many things.
